Note that this crankshaft utilized sleeve bearings Part Number
ST068300AV
(or ST-683) with a nominal inside diameter of 0.750-inch. Also, the flywheel for this crankshaft had a 0.750-inch bore.
The item is in
worn
condition. A measurement with dial calipers (unworn portion of crankshaft near flywheel compared with worn portion of bearing surface) suggests that there is
at least 0.005-inch wear
where the crankshaft is supported by the bearings. Measurements were taken at perpendicular locations on each crankpin, and no difference in the measurements was noted. The actual wear on the crankpins is unknown, as there wasn't a comparative reference, however, the measurements show that the crankpins are still round. The crankshaft was removed from a compressor that was still running and always kept indoors. There was no rust, the item was not cleaned, and the pictures show the condition as removed. The pictures show both sides of the crankshaft with closeup pictures of both sides of bearing surfaces and rod crankpins.
The serviceability of the crankshaft is unknown, as acceptable wear limits are not known.
